Product Setypes and Attriubues
Product Hierarchies and Categories
Hierarchies
A
hierarchy can be defined as a configuration hierarchy. The subcategories can
contain configurable fields and logic. Only one configuration hierarchy is
permitted per product category. You can define the extended maintenance in the
hierarchy as well. If you set this indicator, all categories and set types of
the hierarchy are generated in the Product Modeling Environment (PME).
As a result you can use set types with several value attributes. In addition,
you can define default values on category level. The extended maintenance is automatically defined
for configuration hierarchies.
If you use products in transaction that do not contain
any organizational data, you must allocate the following set types to the
product hierarchy so that you can assign an organization-independent item
category group:
● Set type CRMM_PR_BTR
Transaction-controlling fields
● CRM_ISU_ATTR IS-U Attributes
for Contract
● CRM-ISU_VALUES
Pre-assignment of Values for Lean Configuration
There are Five steps of creating a new product :
1) Maintain attributes
2) maintain set types
3) maintain categories and hierarchies
4) define number range for product type material
5) maintain product
Step 1 use Transaction code - COMM_ATTRSET
maintain the product attributes here
Step 2 Transaction code - COMM_ATTRSET
maintain the set types of the product
Step 3 Transaction code - COMM_HIERARCHY
Create a category and assign it to respective product hierarchy
Step 4 Transaction code - COMCMATERIALID
Number range of the product is defined here
Step 5 Transaction code - COMMPR01
Provide the required field like UOM, description, attribute etc
Finally the product is created with the required attributes.
Product Catogories and Hierarchies
Hierarchy for services, but
create a new hierarchy in SAP CRM. A product master is assigned to at least one
product/base category, which is needed for number assignment. Product category
contains a list of one or more set types, which contains attributes/fields.
The main hierarchy generally
replicated from ERP is the base hierarchy R3PRODSTYP.
If you are creating service products in SAP CRM and not replicating them from SAP ERP, do not use the hierarchy R3PRODSTYP as the base
Note: Before creating product type we need to create Attributes and Set types ,Product Hierarchy and Category based on the business process.
Product Master
Product types are predefined in the system.
In CRM Web UI, the term “Product”
is usually used instead of “Material Master”.
ERP material master data can be
transferred to the CRM system.
An ERP material master comprises
various data and views, some of which cannot be processed in the CRM system
(for example, accounting data). It is usually only general/basic data and
sales-specific data that can be transferred to the CRM system
Base Hierarchies
There are 3 main predefined Hierarchies in SAP CRM system
R3MATCLASS
R3PRODHIER
R3PRODSTYP
Note: Custom Hierarchies can also be created within SAP CRM as per the requirements in the business process.

Functions for Marketing
Generating demand, creating brand awareness and building long-term profitable relationships with customers are the top three marketing goals. Typically, marketing begins with analysing market segments and identifying who your most valuable customers are. Marketing includes a variety of activities such as creating and running marketing campaigns across multiple channels, connecting with target customers, generating leads to support the sales force, producing and providing collateral and, last but not least, analysing the success of all these activities in order to improve the effectiveness of your marketing efforts
